Shipping policy

We want every customer to feel confident and excited when purchasing from Happy Houseplant Haven. Please read our policies carefully before placing an order:

We ship healthy, homegrown tropical houseplants, growing mediums, and related goods from Detroit, MI to most U.S. states. Each plant is shipped in its current growing medium — check the listing for details.


Shipping Basics

Plant orders ship out Monday and Tuesday only

  • All non-plant items ship the next business day, unless otherwise specified

  • Plants shipped via USPS Priority by default

  • Non-plant shipped may either be shipped Economy or Standard, USPS or UPS

  • Other carriers/expedited delivery available at customer's expense. 

Packaging & Care

  • Plants are carefully packed for a safe trip from Detroit, MI

  • I do my best to pack your plant with care, but I am not responsible for shipping delays, weather issues, or damage caused by the carrier

  • Please check the carrier’s policy regarding liability for lost or damaged packages before choosing your shipping option

Issues Upon Arrival

  • An unboxing video is required for any plant claims

  • Any concerns must be brought to my attention within 12 hours of delivery

  • Claims made after this time or without video proof will not be accepted

Pickup/Hold Policy

      If you’re picking up your order:

  • Plants must be picked up within 7 days of purchase.  A 10% restocking free applies if pickup order is not picked up and refunded. Refunds are issued back to the original payment method

  • Facebook Marketplace inquiries/holds are only for 24hrs, 12hrs if no response. Anything longer requires a deposit. 

If a plant was picked up/dropped off for a plant rescue or repot:

  • Once you receive a message that it’s ready, you have 7 days to pick it up or make arrangements for a drop off. 

  • After 7 days an Extended Care Fee of $1 per plant per day will apply. 

  • Full payment must be made before releasing the plant back to the client. 

  • If there have been no pickup or arrangements for a delivery/shipment made within 30 days it is considered abandoned and becomes the property of Happy Houseplant Haven.

Heat/Cold Packs

  • Available for purchase

  • It’s the buyer’s responsibility to decide if one is needed and request it before shipping

  • Shipping may be held when temperatures are extreme. Hot or cold

Currently, we are NOT able to ship to:

  • Hawaii

  • Alaska
