LECA (lightweight expanded clay aggregate) is baked clay that's full of tiny pores. The pebbles wick water up from a reservoir to your plant's roots while leaving plenty of air between them. Our 8 to 16mm LECA is pre-rinsed, so there's no muddy clay dust to wash off before you use it.

How to use it

1. Soak the pebbles in water for a few hours so they start wicking right away.
2. Rinse all soil off your plant's roots before moving it into LECA.
3. Keep water in the bottom quarter to third of the pot, with semi-hydro nutrients added.
4. Flush with plain water about once a month.

Which LECA do you need?

• LECA 8 to 16mm: the standard size for semi-hydro pots and most houseplants.
• Jumbo LECA 15 to 25mm: extra-large pebbles for big plants, drainage layers and very chunky mixes.
