Extra-large clay pebbles for big plants and big pots.

Jumbo LECA is lightweight expanded clay sized 15 to 25mm, roughly double our standard LECA. The bigger pebbles leave large gaps for air and water to move through, which suits large plants with thick roots and big containers. It's pre-rinsed, so there's no muddy clay dust to wash off first.

Best for

• Semi-hydro setups for large aroids and plants with thick roots
• A lightweight drainage layer in the bottom of large planters
• Humidity and pebble trays
• Mixing into very chunky custom blends

Why plant parents love it

• Extra airflow. Big pebbles leave wide gaps around the roots.
• Wicks water. Porous clay pulls moisture up from the reservoir.
• Lightweight. Much lighter than gravel or rock in large pots.
• Pre-rinsed. Ready to soak and use.
• Reusable. Wash and reuse it again and again.

How to use it

1. Soak the pebbles in water for a few hours so they start wicking right away.
2. Rinse all soil off your plant's roots before moving it into LECA.
3. Keep water in the bottom quarter to third of the pot, with semi-hydro nutrients added.
4. Flush with plain water about once a month.

Which LECA do you need?

• LECA 8 to 16mm: the standard size for semi-hydro pots and most houseplants.
• Jumbo LECA 15 to 25mm: extra-large pebbles for big plants, drainage layers and very chunky mixes.
