About This Plant
Scindapsus Treubii Moonlight is a cultivated form of the species Scindapsus treubii, a tropical climbing aroid native to Peninsular Malaysia, northwestern Borneo, and Java. ‘Moonlight’ is known for its thick, glossy leaves with a beautiful silvery-green, almost metallic finish.
It has a naturally slower growth rate than many common vining houseplants, but it makes up for it with sturdy foliage and a compact look. This exact plant has been growing in my care for over 12 months and is currently pushing new offshoots, giving it the start of a fuller plant.
Why You’ll Love It
- Thick, glossy foliage with a silvery-green finish
- New offshoots are currently coming in
- Compact growth makes it easy to display
- Can be allowed to trail or trained to climb as it matures
How to Keep It Happy
Light: Bright, indirect or filtered light is ideal. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Allow the potting mix to dry about halfway to almost completely before watering again. Water thoroughly and let excess water drain.
Soil: Use an airy, well-draining potting mix that provides good root aeration.
Humidity: Does well in moderate household humidity but appreciates higher humidity with good airflow.
Temperature: Around 65–75°F is ideal. Protect from cold drafts and prolonged cool temperatures.
Current Growing Conditions
Environment: Greenhouse-grown and seasonally moved
Humidity: Approximately 60–75%

This plant may need 7–14 days to acclimate to the light, temperature, and humidity in its new home. Some leaf movement, repositioning, or temporary slowing of growth can occur during the adjustment period.
Important Plant Note
Live plants naturally change over time and may have small cosmetic imperfections, including minor leaf marks, natural blemishes, or older leaf damage. New growth and offshoots may also continue developing between the time the plant is photographed and purchased.
